Visitors to Barbados are totally spoilt for choice when it comes to picking a restaurant now more than ever with the new crop of fantastic eateries that have sprung up this season. Of course, the old school classics are still some of the very best, you can't beat the beach side ambience at Lonestar nor can anyone resist the opulence of The Cliff, but the new kids on the block are well worth a visit too.

Baia

Barbados newest restaurant hot spots

Baia is a new stylish Peruvian restaurant in Speightstown. It brings the spirit of Latin America to the Caribbean through mouth watering Peruvian-fusion food. The bar at Baia prepares exceptional cocktails and live entertainment. The setting is on the beach abd the vibe is laid back. It is a rustic luxurious setting.

Baia will take you through a journey of vibrant and fresh flavours and textures.

From the different Peruvian chilli, corn and smoke to coconut, chocolate and lime. Experience the different flavours in their ceviches, raw bar and open charcoal grilled dishes. All while in a lively atmosphere with the stunning backdrop of the Caribbean Sea.

In the main bar, take a seat and browse the shelves. The bartenders will be delighted to pick something out for you. There is an extensive list of tequilas!
Down on our beach deck, take in the view and vibe of the entire restaurant. Sip on Baia's signature sour or a glass of rose. Watch the sun go down and feel the beat as the music turns up...

LARRY ROGERS AT MULLINS BAY

Larry and Michelle Rogers for decades have run some of the best restaurants in Barbados including Cin Cin. They have quietly opened Larry Rogers at Mullins Bay in the old Mullins Beach Bar site. Everyone is welcome -not just Royal Westmoreland guests.

The food here is just exquisite. An extensive menu with something for everyone bistro style and right on the water by Mullins Beach.

Delicate and unusual flavours -all beautifully presented. There are tapas like bites -such as tacos, crab cakes and duck gyoza. Sandwiches and wraps- including burgers and quesadilla, small plates which include watermelon and tomato gazpacho and yellow fin tuna tartare. Amazing salads and of course pizzas.

Give it a try. You will not be disappointed.

CALMA

New restauants in Barbados

Calma Beach Club is a brand new beach club on Barbados' famous West Coast. It is right in the heart of Holetown.

Together, the founders have created a space where both locals and tourists can come together. Calma serves fresh and delicious food paired with wonderful cocktails and big smiles. This is all with the backdrop of the Caribbean sea whilst listening to the best beats.

THE CLIFF

Originally opened in 1995, The Cliff quickly became world renowned as Barbados’ Premier dining destination. Its food, service and ambience were unparalleled. 

Now under new ownership the aspirations have increased from the best in Barbados to the best in the world! The previous structure has been modernised and The Cliff has been replaced with an elegant, sophisticated design. 

​The glass sea facing kitchen allows guests to catch a glimpse of the culinary team. Watch them creating dishes that excite the eyes and wow the taste buds. 

​The Cliff's fine wine cellar holds over 1500 varieties of carefully selected wines. These have been chosen by their expert team of Sommeliers. 

The food here is absolute perfection and beautifully presented. At night the outdoor dining terrace overlooking the bay is as romantic as ever and the tarpins still swim in the moonlight below. 

Dining here is not cheap but it is a very unique experience in a stunning setting.

 

THE LOCAL & CO

New restauants in Barbados

Over eighty-five percent of Barbados’ produce is imported. The aim of The Local & Co is to actively support regenerative food systems, organic farmers and biodiversity. By working alongside artisans, producers, farmers, fisherfolk and butchers on the Island The Local & co do whatever they can to help maintain the health of our oceans, soils and food communities. 

The Local & Co is a rustic restaurant in a beautiful setting. It has a covered deck overlooking the beach and Caribbean Sea. 

Local & Co offers a real farm to table concept. As a result they change the menu constantly, depending on the crops, weather conditions & Chef’s mood.

The chef is Sophie Michell. She is a well knowncChef and author from the UK. She has been working in kitchens for 27 years, training & cooking in some of London's top Michelin starred restaurants. Sophie has published eight bestselling & award winning cookbooks. She has also carved out a successful TV career in the UK and internationally.

The Local & Co also offers a market shop selling freshly baked pies, pastries and outstanding salads. There are curries to die for and grab and go meals that will have you coming back for more. And that’s just the food. 

The Marketplace at Local & Co. is no ordinary shop. You’ll find homemade jams, small batches of pickles and chutneys, flavoured salts, jerky, chips and more to fill your pantry. 

Pop in for a coffee and a tasty nibble and stay on to find some must have treats. 

BEARDED ROSE

The Bearded Rose is a new and popular restaurant in Lime Grove. Relish the ambience of its island courtyard dining experience. Here, thoughtful dining and design details invite you to indulge in the delights of this cultural concoction. 

The Bearded Rose has seasonally-led menus curated with local ingredients. It is a tasteful ode to both Barbadian & British elements - creating a curious balance of worlds apart.

A fabulous addition to Lime Grove both at lunchtime and in the evening. Chef Michael Hinds offers gourmet day time offerings in an beautiful air conditioned setting. If you prefer sit outside on the covered terrace in the balmy air. A fabulous, extensive menu beautifully presented and every dish is tasty.

At night the restaurant becomes a lively night time spot. It has a great vibe and is a cool place to hang out.

Highly recommended and a bonus for those who like shopping in Lime Grove.
